Icy on the Deben

I’m back online, and so is the warm (ish) weather in real life!

I’m back! Some teething problems with setting up internet in my new home in Woodbridge, but I am back online now!

I’ll put some photos of snowy Woodbridge, Ipswich and icy Deben up in the next few days. But for now it’s a good time to start being a daily photo site again with the unseasonably warm weather we had today!

I haven't been here yet in summer, but I'm sure one could be forgiven for thinking this blue sky was summertime.

Higher Tide

After saying I’d rarely seen these boats not stuck in the mud, the past few days during my lunch hour, they’ve been floating!

My colleague told me that tides are on a roughly 2 weekly cycle, so if it's high tide today, it will be low tide next week, and high tide again the following week. That does make some sense when I think about it, I'm ashamed I've never been observant enough to work that out myself!

Overhung Houses

These narrow overhangs seem to be a feature of houses in Woodbridge, perhaps Suffolk, and maybe even wider afield if I simply haven't been very observant til now! Perhaps a relic from dumping dishwater into the streets, they don't offer much protection from the elements when walking underneath!

In search of Big Skies

In search of Big Skies. I've strayed into Norfolk today. Big skies are characteristic of the area, but I'm not convinced I found them in this particular spot, it's more a case of cropping the photo carefully to give the impression!
